This past academic year, Tip Ragan and his colleague, Jeffrey Merrick, completed their book manuscript, “Policing Homosexuality in Pre-Revolutionary Paris.” In addition, Tip wrote a chapter on the decriminalization of sodomy during the French Revolution for a forthcoming book entitled “From Sodomy Laws to Same-Sex Marriage: Historical Perspectives on a Global Revolution,” edited by Mark Seymour and Sean Brady. Finally, he started work on a digital humanities project at Colorado College that will focus on the policing of same-sex sexuality in 18th-century France.
