Kathleen Bizzarro investigated, established, and directed the Spanish in Spain program 2004-2013 in Salamanca, Spain. The program enjoyed the participation of Dean Emily Chan as a Mellon Grant student of Spanish, visits by Dean Eric Popkin, the participation of the teaching staff from all members of the Spanish/Portuguese Department and a special visit by President Jill Tiefenthaler in Summer 2013. Building upon the consistent academic excellence and popularity of the program, Kathleen was asked to investigate, establish, and direct the first Colorado College Winter Start Fall Semester Program in Salamanca, Spain, in 2014. The success of that endeavor has resulted in a follow up 2015 Winter Start Fall Semester program in England, France, Italy, and Slavonia. The last year has been spent working with the Fulbright Spain Teacher’s Program for recent college graduates interested in teaching English in Spain. Kathleen also teaches Spanish 101 and 201.
